Gold futures for April delivery on the COMEX climbed $12.20, or 0.9%, to finish at $1,428.60 per ounce on Friday. For the week, COMEX gold futures posted a gain of 1.4%, its fifth consecutive weekly advance. Furthermore, the yellow metal is now higher by over 1.0% year-to-date.
Not to be outdone, COMEX silver futures rose 7.4% this week to extend their win streak to six. On Friday, silver settled higher by $1.00, or 2.9%, to $35.33 per ounce, and also reached yet another new 31-year high of $35.475 per ounce.
