COMEX Gold Futures Close 1.2% Lower

(GoldAlert.Com) Gold futures for April delivery on the COMEX settled lower on Thursday by $17.10, or 1.2%, at $1,412.50 per ounce.COMEX gold futures fell victim to widespread liquidation in commodities and equities, as Wall Street suffered its worst day since August 2010. Silver futures declined 2.7% to $35.07 per ounce, while platinum and palladium futures slid 2.2% and 2.1%, respectively.
